All men are not created 15 1/2-33
"I started selling men's clothing long ago at the age of 15. For the next 25 years of my career selling men's clothing was all about the customer walking in the store and the decision was made as to which suit, sport coat, pant, or shirt he was going to purchase. The process was simple. You try to find the size that was close enough for the customer to be able to wear with simple alterations. For some bodies, this was easy. For others, it was sometimes impossible.
Without a doubt, the hardest item to fit was the shirt. All men are not created 15 1/2-33. About 20 years ago I met a man that owned a small custom shirt company. His family has operated this custom shirt business since the 1900's. I absolutely fell in love with making shirts that fit. My customers were thrilled. Twenty years ago the price was a factor. The custom shirt was more expensive. Today, there is little difference in the price, if any.
The next item of clothing that men have a problem fitting is the back of the trouser. Most men have no rear end. How many times have you seen a man walking in front of you with a large amount of fabric hanging down around the seat? He looks like he's wearing someone else's clothes. Custom pants give you the proper fit and you have so many more colors and fabrics to chose from. Not to mention, the different models. You probably couldn't even count the number of times you have seen a pair of pants on the rack but they were pleated and you like plain front, or they have belt loops and you like beltless.
And now for the suit coat or sport coat. Why settle for something that's not styled exactly the way you prefer it to be? why buy the navy one when you really wanted the grey? Why settle for something that is just ok when it can be perfect. When buying quality clothing there is no difference in price between custom and stock. I'm not talking about the stuff that made in South America or China. I'm talking about made in America, name brand clothing. The custom price in many cases is less than the same suit hanging on the rack.
If you like to look your best in your clothes then you owe it to yourself to try custom."
